Sales engineer - Hybrid battery

Job SummaryWe’re looking for a Sales Engineer who can bridge the gap between cutting-edge hybrid battery technology and real-world customer needs. In this role, you’ll work directly with hybrid repair shops, fleet operators, distributors, and other partners to understand new requirements, translate them into clear technical feedback for our product team, and turn those conversations into new sales opportunities. You’ll also support go-to-market and marketing efforts to help grow adoption of our next-generation hybrid battery products.

Job location: La Verne, CA, 91750

Essential Job Duties:

  • Serve as the technical point-of-contact for customers evaluating or deploying our hybrid battery products.
  • Gather customer requirements, pain points, and fitment/application details; translate them into actionable product requirements and internal documentation.
  • Conduct outbound calls to hybrid repair shops and related businesses to identify needs, qualify leads, and develop new sales opportunities.
  • Manage the sales cycle for assigned accounts/leads: discovery, product recommendations, quoting, follow-ups, and closing.
  • Provide product education and technical support during evaluation (features, performance expectations, installation considerations, troubleshooting basics).
  • Coordinate with engineering/R&D to relay field feedback, prioritize customer requests, and support new product development.
  • Support marketing initiatives: contribute to product messaging, sales collateral, email campaigns, training materials, and basic content creation (shop-facing guides, FAQ, comparisons).
  • Track activity and pipeline in CRM or internal tracking tools, and report key findings (lead status, customer feedback, competitor intel).
  • Represent the company professionally with partners and customers via phone, email, and occasional on-site/field visits as needed.

·         Assume other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, account management, or customer-facing technical roles (automotive, battery, EV/hybrid, electronics, or related industry preferred).
  • Comfortable with high-volume outbound calling and proactive outreach to generate and qualify leads.
  • Strong ability to understand technical concepts and explain them clearly to non-technical customers (repair shops, fleet operators, distributors).
  • Familiarity with automotive systems and/or electrical concepts (e.g., batteries, high-voltage safety, diagnostics, modules/packs)—hands-on experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills: phone, email, and documentation.
  • Organized and self-driven: able to manage multiple opportunities, follow-ups, and customer requests without constant supervision.
  • Proficient with common tools (Google Workspace/Microsoft Office); experience with CRM tools is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally (if required for your business).
